Our Story

Union Jiu-Jitsu officially opened its doors in 2021, but its foundation was built before that — in a converted garage during the uncertainty of the pandemic. What started as a small training space created by Adam, Joe, and Pat quickly became something more. As the world slowly reopened, so did our doors, and the community grew alongside us.

From day one, Union Jiu-Jitsu was built on community, inclusiveness, and mutual support. The goal was never just to create another gym — it was to build a space that reflected the larger Chatham-Kent community and made Jiu-Jitsu accessible to anyone willing to step on the mats. A place where beginners feel welcome, experienced practitioners feel challenged, and everyone feels supported.

What began in a garage has grown into a thriving academy, but the values remain the same: respect, growth, and a culture that puts people first.
